As soon as we got inside the show Sean headed straight for the Chevy Camaro, one of the cars he was most excited to see. It did look good; I even liked the orange with black racing stripes. I'm looking forward to seeing it on the road. And I certainly liked it better than...
the Ford Mustang. I don't think Michael agreed with me, but I just didn't like the new front end. But we all agreed the wheels were pretty cool.
Now on to Rebecca's favorites. They are certainly a study in extremes! First, the Bug. I have no doubt that she'll be driving one of these as soon as she can! It thrills Sean's heart to have his baby love the same car he loves so much.
And her second favorite is the Hummer!
Michael was disappointed last year that we didn’t spend much time looking at the exotic cars. So this year we let him take his time gawking at the completely unreachable cars Lamborghini, Bentley and Ferrari displayed.
Here's Michael in front of a Lamborghini. It makes me very, VERY happy that the gleam in his eye is there because of the car and not the two blondes behind him. I know that day is coming, but today I am grateful he's still looking most closely at the cars.
I assume the luxury is all inside this Bentley, because the outside is just ugly. And finally, a beautiful Ferrari that would do Magnum proud. I always think of my Dad when I see a Ferrari. If a few million dollars were ever dropped in my lap one of the first things I’d do is buy my Dad a red Ferrari.
Another big draw at the show was Chevy's new electric car. You can see the plug hanging down right in front of the door! Here's what Chevy's website has to say about it: Introducing a new kind of electric vehicle — Concept Chevy Volt. It’s unlike any previous EV (electric vehicle), thanks to its innovative rechargeable electric drive system and range-extending power source. It can be configured to run on electricity, gasoline, E85 or biodiesel. So you have at least a couple of options for the most efficient drive — all made possible by GM’s innovative E-Flex Propulsion System. I'm pleased as punch that it has E-Flex Propulsion System... but the best news about it is it looks great!
Sean was thrilled to see his baby on display. Saturn, GMC and Buick were all displaying the models his plant is busy building. He's standing in front of the Saturn Outlook. So, there are a few highlight from the 2007 North American International Auto Show. Sean's already looking forward to next year!
