It’s Good to be Rebecca

Rebecca’s still enjoying her time with family in Georgia. She spent the weekend with Sean’s sister, Jill, and her family. They live in the country (we used to joke that they were country mice and we were city mice, but now that we live amidst the cornfields that analogy doesn’t fly) and Jill took Rebecca and her cousins to a farm owned by Jill’s brother-in-law. Rebecca told us she got to see lots of cows and a horse and got to ride in the “gator.” She loved that!

Jill and her husband Rodney also took her fishing. Rebecca is very interested in fishing these days, so she was thrilled to get to catch a fish. (Rodney caught the one in the picture.) She enjoyed telling us that she touched the fish all over, including its eye. I asked her what she did that for and she said, “Well, I wanted to feel it.” Fair enough.

Yesterday Sean’s mom picked Rebecca up and took her back to her house, so now Rebecca’s getting some one-on-one Grandma time. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

How fortunate our children are to have such wonderfully involved and loving grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and cousins.
