It was a beautiful night. The sky was blue and full of cotton ball clouds. It was a bit hot when we first got there because the sun was shining right onto the seats, but after a few innings it set a bit and a wonderful cool breeze floated through the park. Lansing is lovely in the summer; I don’t care to ever experience an Atlanta summer again. Why would we leave such a temperate climate?
There were 19 of us in the box area – plenty of room for all. However, when one realizes there are 19 people but only 12 seats, perhaps it would be nice for the people who got there first to share the seats with the people who got there later, especially because the reason the people got there later is because the husband was still at work! Thankfully the box next to us wasn’t being used so we hopped the half-wall and sat in those seats. I’d say more but Sean has to work with those people…
Speaking of people who work with Sean, Liz was supposed to be there but bailed. I don't know what that was all about; I heard something about taking her daughter to see her grandfather. Like that's a decent excuse.
Anyway, one of the benefits of sitting in the box is Big Lug comes for a personal visit. Rebecca has always loved anything in costume, so she was thrilled to get a hug from Big Lug. She also got his autograph. I’m wondering if she knows there’s a person in there. Surely she does…
Below are some pictures from the ball park:
Big Lug with our kids and David and Kate, children of our friends Mark and Mary.

Me and my good-looking guy
Michael and Rebecca - I kept having to ask them to get off the railing because it looked like they were seconds away from going over the edge. Sean assured me they weren't but after reading the story of the guy at the Braves game who went over the edge and died, well, I do not apologize for my motherly paranoia.
It was a gorgeous night!
Cool Shades!
ReplyDeleteIs Michael a foot taller than Amy! My goodness!

Oh, Mary! I'm sure if you had a blog it would be very entertaining because you are highly entertaining in person! :-)
