Not all bad news

Seems the only GM news being reported these days is bad news. But last week Buick received a dose of good news: The JD Power scores were in and the Enclave came in first in a field of 24. Sean’s plant builds the Enclave so to say he was elated is an understatement.

Here are the particulars:

"Buick is proud to announce that the 2008 Enclave team was presented with the JD Power APEAL award for “Most Appealing Midsize Multi-Activity Vehicle.” The JD Power APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout) identifies what consumers like and dislike about their new vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership, particularly regarding vehicle design, content, layout and performance.

According to J.D. Power, Buick is the most improved nameplate in this year’s APEAL study, thanks to a boost from its stylish new Enclave crossover utility. Buick’s 20-point index score increase was tops among the 36 nameplates in this year’s study, as was its eight-position jump in the rankings."

And thanks to everyone who has called and emailed asking if Sean's job is safe. In the midst of all the bad news we are thankful he was given the opportunity to work at GM’s newest plant building one of GM’s best selling vehicles.

Of course, these times of trouble remind us to not to place our trust in jobs or companies or economies but in the One who set the world in motion:

The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of
trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for
you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10
