I forgot - there is a holiday movie I adore: Elf. I guess that makes me pretty low-brow, but that movie is hysterical. Here's one of my favorite scenes:
Now, I'd gladly see a Broadway musical based on Buddy the Elf!
My sister and I love it so much that we use it now to kick off our holiday seasons... they have a viewing party close to Thanksgiving. We quote from it all the time. I'm partial to: "I like to whisper, too!" "It's very purpley" "Bye, Buddy. Hope you find your Dad" and "You sit on a throne of lies!"
My nieces and I like to do what we call "The Buddy Walk" in major metropolitan/snooty areas. It never fails to embarrass somewhat my sister and send us into hysterics. Picture a very chic bar in Chicago with a large picture window and us hopping from crack to crack in front of it in our best Buddy fashion.
Well, I hope low brow means something good because that is one of our all time favorites!!
