Tissues required

For me, anyway.

By the time you read this, we'll have arrived at Michael's college and moved him in. We'll have met his roommate. We'll have found his parking spot and the cafeteria (two very important finds, FYI). And if you're reading this after 2 pm, we'll have said goodbye.

Man, I'm going to miss that kid.

Amy Grant wrote this song for her nephew when he went away to college. The song came out in 1997; Michael was 3 years old. I remember looking at him, thinking, "That is such a long way off!" It was a lot closer than I imagined.

So, the moral of today's story is enjoy your kids! They grow up so fast. Really, truly, they do.

And I have now officially become an old person.

Have a great weekend!

Trust the tears have stopped flowing, and you can rest in the knowledge that Michael is exactly where God wants him right now.
AND that he'll be home periodically for food, laundry services, and a comfy place to kick back, surrounded by his adoring family :)

  2. AWEsome slide show to go with the awesome song choice!

And he'll be back before you know it - and a bunch of new friends will often come with him to visit the warm, funny, great home he comes from.
